Who we are
These terms cover parts you order from Burrell Industries through MAIT, our online quoting and ordering service. By placing an order you agree to them. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Quotes
Prices are calculated instantly from your file and the options you choose, and include GST where shown. A quote stays valid for 30 days. If your file can't be made as drawn, or a price was clearly calculated in error, we'll tell you before we make anything and you can change or cancel the order at no cost.
Orders and engineer review
An order is accepted when we confirm it. Some parts are checked by an engineer first (we'll say so before you order). If a check finds a problem we'll contact you with options; if we can't make the part, we'll refund you in full.
Your designs
You keep all rights to the files and designs you send us. We use them only to quote, make and support your order, and we don't share them except with the people who help us do that. By ordering you confirm you have the right to have the design made. We may decline work that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or is offensive.
Designs made with MAIT's AI
If you describe a part and our AI designer draws it, the design is generated from your words. Check the sizes, the 3D view and the flat pattern before ordering — we make the design you approve. You're responsible for it suiting your use (loads, fit, safety), as you would be for your own drawing.
Manufacturing
Parts are made to normal tolerances for the process (laser cutting, press brake bending, CNC machining) and material. Bend radii follow our tooling, and the flat size is adjusted to suit. If a dimension is critical, tell us in the order notes before we start. Manufacturability notes shown with your quote are advice: if you order a part as drawn after we've flagged a problem, results caused by that problem aren't a defect.
Payment
Payment is taken when you place your order, or as we tell you at checkout. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
Delivery and risk
Delivery is a flat $6.00 (including GST) Australia-wide, and free on orders of $150 or more. Ship dates are estimates of when your order leaves us; carrier transit time is extra. Risk in the parts passes to you on delivery or collection.
Cancelling
You can cancel free of charge until we start making your parts. Because every part is made to your design, once cutting has started we can't cancel the order unless the parts are faulty (see Returns & refunds).
Our responsibility
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those guarantees, and to the extent the law allows, our liability for any order is limited to re-supplying the parts or refunding what you paid for them, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian state or territory where we are based.
